Looking for a fun summer project that costs less than $50? Well then DIYer Rob Palmer has the perfect project for you. Your kids are going to love this fun activity.
All you need is an old tire, some plywood, spray paint, screws, and some wood glue (all found at your local home improvement store). This is a great way to reuse an old tire and teach your kids the importance of reusing old products while having a fun DIY-learning experience along the way!
The tools you’ll need for this project are: hacksaw, jigsaw, and a drill.
First, you’ll need to use a hacksaw to cut the old tire in half. You’ll only need one half of the tire for this project.
Next, prime the tire and then spray paint the tire whichever color you like. Rob used a nice red. Then you’ll grab a jigsaw to cut the plywood and form the seat for the seesaw.
Then add two handles using wood glue and screws and attach the half tire (round side down) to the plywood. You can spray paint the wood the same color as the tire. Now it’s time to put it to the ultimate test: let your kids try it out!
