Our world seems to be inundated with retail products that claim to be “all natural” or “100% natural.” Well, the below DIY tip is truly an all natural (and fun) way to clean those rusty tools you have lying around. You should be able to find the following items around your house. If not, run to your nearest local home improvement store and get busy!

What you need:

  • Rusty tools
  • Vinegar
  • Bucket
  • Toothbrush
  • Paper towels
  • Baking soda
  • Water
  • Hair dryer
  • Coconut oil
  • Sponge

 

Instructions:

1.) Soak rusted items in vinegar for 3 hours, then scrub with a toothbrush.
2.) Soak cleaned items in a solution of one part baking soda, two parts water for five minutes.
3.) Rinse in water. Dry immediately with paper towels. Use a hair dryer for any tight spaces.
4.) Optional: Coat with coconut oil to prevent further rusting.
